The next session of "Introduction to Medical Microbiology" will run from October 2018 to February 2019.
The course has been created and developed by the University of Toronto Department of Molecular Genetics. It is delivered to the public by the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. The official course number is SCS 3031, section '005'. Although there are no formal prerequisites for this challenging course, a good knowledge in human biology at an introductory university level is highly recommended. Students must have access to a reliable high-speed Internet connection for the duration of the course.
The course consists of individual weekly "modules" that generally require a few hours each week to complete. Students may progress through the material within a module at their own pace, however some assignments will have inflexible deadlines to keep students on track. New modules will be uploaded at specific points and the class will progress through some parts together as a group.
